The Volvo C70 comes with extra stiff door-mounted inflatable curtains as part of the enhanced protection system for side impacts. Plus, an improved Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) offers protection to occupants in rollover accidents.

Roll Over Protection System

The Volvo C70 comes with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) designed to act quickly and effectively. Should it sense your car is in danger of rolling over, it responds to make corrections. And if needed, special ROPS bars extend rapidly to create a space between the car and the ground, reducing the risk of occupant injury.

Reinforced Body Structure

We've reinforced the C70 with extremely strong A-posts, doors and sills. A longitudinal member has been added to the upper section of each door, while the bottom sills are built bigger and stronger, then laser-welded for increased torsional rigidity.

Intelligent Driver Information Systems

IDIS continually monitors the movement of your car's steering wheel to determine if you're negotiating some difficult curves - any situation, in fact, that demands your full attention. If it detects you are, it will delay distracting information - incoming calls on the integrated cars phone, for example - until your drive becomes less demanding.

Because the Volvo C70 has been designed with a low drag coefficient, it helps to lower fuel consumption and keep harmful emissions out of the environment. Because of its technology, the C70 meets both the stringent ULEV II emission standards in the US and Euro 4/5 Petrol diesel standard.
