Our Side Impact Protection System distributes crash forces across a large part of the car's body, helping to reduce the impact on the occupants. Front seat side airbags and inflatable curtains also help reduce the risk of injury to the head, chest and hips.
Dynamic Stability and Traction Control
Dynamic Stability and Traction Control helps improve control on twisting roads by instantly cutting power to any wheel which loses traction, until grip is regained. The anti-skid system also detects when the car begins to skid, braking the relevant wheels individually to bring the S60 back into line.
Enhanced vision with Active Bi-Xenon Lights

High Performing Engines
Smooth and powerful, the very latest five-cylinder engines feature continuously variable valve timing (petrol engines) and common rail direct injection (diesel engines) to combine impressive acceleration with minimal fuel consumption.
Four-C
The optional Four-C active chassis adjusts each shock absorber individually, letting you choose a specific driving mode. Comfort mode gives a smoother ride, ironing out bumps in the road, while Sport mode gives more precise handling, quicker steering response and a truly tenacious grip.

Bi-Fuel Engine
The 2.4-litre five-cylinder 140hp Bi-Fuel engine benefits the environment without compromising driving pleasure. When running on methane (compressed natural gas - CNG - or bio gas), the engine delivers lower carbon dioxide emissions and gives performance on a par with that of a petrol engine. Petrol is only used in cold starts and as a back-up fuel.
Clean and Healthy Interior
There is no place for plastics and materials with toxic emissions inside the Volvo S60. So it's no surprise that all of its interior fabrics comply with the Oeko-Tex standard 100.
Interior Air Quality System
The S60's cabin filter prevents dust, exhaust particles and pollen from entering the car through its ventilation system. Add the optional Interior Air Quality System, and it will also check for certain unhealthy gases as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide.
