Innovations like Collision Warning and Brake Support and Dynamic Stability Traction Control ensure that whatever the road holds, your Volvo S80 will keep you informed, protected and relaxed.
Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning
One system, but a package of benefits. By calculating the time gap between your Volvo S80 and the traffic ahead, the Adaptive Cruise Control allows you to keep a constant safety distance between your car and that traffic. Then, should the traffic in front of you suddenly stop or slow down, Collision Warning and Brake Support will work to both alert you by sounding a warning and flashing a red light, and prepare your car for full braking.
Whiplash Protection System
The front seats of the Volvo S80 are equipped with the Volvo whiplash protection system, WHIPS, to help prevent neck injuries. Activated if your car is driven into with sufficient force from behind, WHIPS cradles the spine and neck in a controlled manner.
Side Impact Protection
The Volvo's patented Side Impact Protection System distributes crash forces across a large part of the car's body, helping to reduce the impact on the occupants. And in the Volvo S80, the dual chamber SIPS bags work in tandem with this structure, protecting the hip and chest areas with different pressure. Inflatable curtains also help reduce the risk of injuries.

Park Assist Camera
Add the Park Assist Camera to your new Volvo S80 and straining your neck becomes a thing of the past. A rear-facing camera monitors your position and displays the result on your dashboard information screen, keeping your car scratch-free and also warning you should there be any pedestrians behind you. It even shows your steering wheel position to make parking even simpler.

Clean Zone Interior Package - CZIP
Approved by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association, the Volvo S80's CZIP builds on the Interior Air Quality System to offer asthma or hay fever sufferers a real breath of fresh air. When the car is unlocked via remote control, the passenger compartment is automatically ventilated for about a minute (should the temperature be above 10 degrees Celsius) to 'flush' impurities from the cabin.
Advanced Diesel Technology
Our advanced Coated Diesel Particulate Filter, CDPF, cleans the exhaust gases from over 95% of diesel particulates. Furthermore, the new fuel and engine management system reduces approximately 50% of the Nox emissions.
Interior Air Quality System
The S80's cabin filter prevents dust, exhaust particles and pollen from entering the car through its ventilation system. Add the optional Interior Air Quality System, and it will also check for certain unhealthy gases as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide.
