Six-Speed Gear Boxes

Feel the benefit of more control with six-speed gear boxes on all XC90 engines. The six-speed manual gear box offers fast and precise gear change. Even if you prefer the more relaxed six-speed Geartronic automatic, you can still opt for manual gear change with the flip of the gear lever, allowing you to maintain a lower gear to bring up the revs or provide added braking when approaching a sharp bend.

High Performance Engines

With the outstanding 4.4-litre, 311hp V8 engine, the naturally aspirated 3.2 with 232hp through its six cylinders, and the celebrated 185hp D5 to choose from, the only question is - how much power do you want?

All-Wheel Drive

With four wheel drive capability for traction when you need it, and two wheel drive the rest of the time to cut down on fuel consumption, Volvo's AWD with Instant Traction really does give you the best of both worlds. Wheel spin is minimised to provide immediate acceleration and reassuring stability in slippery conditions, for a feeling of total control and driving pleasure.

Roll Stability Control

If you're ever forced into such a harsh emergency avoidance manoeuvre that your XC90 risks tipping over, the Roll Stability Control system will help cut the dangers. The vehicle's speed and lean angle are monitored to determine the risk of a roll - and at a set risk-level, the Roll Stability Control system will step in and either brake or cut the power, helping the XC90 regain its poise and keep you in control.

Active Bi-Xenon Lights

Intelligently adjust to your speed and position on bends to show you exactly where you're going. Which means you're not in the dark about what's around the next corner.

Unique Frontal Structure

Safely in the Volvo XC90 also extends to other road-users. Firstly, an additional low cross-member at the front helps activate the other car's crumple zones, while the bonnet is designed to act as a crumple zone for any person colliding with the car, helping to reduce their risk or serious injuries.

Seating Versatility

Beautifully quiet, incredibly spacious - the inside of an XC90 is a wonderful place to be. You and up to six other passengers can travel in first-class comfort in separate seats, enjoying an unobstructed view. Each seat in the second row is also individually adjustable.

Two 7-inch screens sculpted into the rear of the front seats means children in the back of the car enjoy being busy, entertained and stimulated while you concentrate on the road. 85% Recyclable

From the moment our designers put pen to paper to the second your XC90 leaves the production line, environmental care is one of our primary considerations. That's why 85% of all components and materials used in the construction of the vehicle can be recycled for future use.

Advanced Diesel Technology

Our advanced Coated Diesel Particulate Filter, CDPF, cleans the exhaust gases from over 95% of diesel particulates. Furthermore, the new fuel and engine management system reduces approximately 50% of the Nox emissions.

Interior Air Quality System

Intelligently guards passengers against pollution, pollen and particles. The XC90's cabin filter prevents dust, exhaust particles and pollen from entering the car through its ventilation system. Add the optional Interior Air Quality System, and it will also check for certain unhealthy gases as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide.
